About Us
The Hanover High School PTA is a small group of dedicated parents who work with the High School Administration to enrich the high school experience for students in Hanover. Together we work to bring in engaging speakers and presentations, improve technology, provide hospitality for students and staff members and recognize our hardworking students. The Hanover High School PTA relies on funds raised through HPTA fundraisers and the One Time Donation campaign to assist in ways that benefit the entire student body. In the past few years, fund-raising initiatives have supported presentations such as Chris Herren's Hoop Dreams, and Taylor's Message drug and alcohol awareness programs, the purchase of Chrome Books and special media improvements, hospitality for staff members and undergraduate and senior awards and scholarships.

Please contact Susan Hutchins at suehutchinsqa@gmail.com or Kristen Lundin at klundin154@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out. JOIN US! If you have questions or ideas for our school, please feel free to contact us. We are always looking for volunteers and would love additional building reps. Please reach out if you would like to help! FUNDRAISING With a population of over 800 students, the High School has some of our most expensive initiatives. Participation in our fundraisers declines when students enter the High School. Consequently, the money raised through One Time Donation fundraiser is essential. We hope that 100% of Hanover High School families will donate to Hanover PTA through this campaign. Your generous donations are essential to the Hanover PTA’s continued support, no donation is too small! Please give generously as you are able. Ways to Get Involved at HHS
SCHOOL LIBRARY ASSISTANCE The HHS School Library is kept open after school hours for students through the volunteerism of our parent community. Many students congregate in the library to study, do homework and work on projects. Students meet before sport’s practices begin or for a quiet place to go and get work done before heading home. Parent volunteers can read, do paperwork, use the computer or do whatever else they might need during the time they are there. Volunteers are needed Monday – Thursday from 2:40-4:00 pm. On half days we need a volunteer from 12:30-2:00 and then 2:00-4:00 pm. Volunteers may help once in a while or on a regular basis. Please contact Sue McHugh directly at smchugh@hanoverschools.org if you would like to be added to the schedule or the volunteer list for future needs. HHS PTA BUILDING REPRESENTATIVES Join the PTA at Hanover High School. We are a small group of parents who work with the Principal and School council to determine the best use of Hanover PTA granted funds. We organize hospitality a few times a year for the Staff. The building representatives help with refreshments for 9th grade orientation, arrange volunteers for picture day, assist with 8th grade Open House in the Winter and order student awards in the Spring. The time commitment is not great, but we do need the help. Please contact Jill Kadra at jakadra@verizon.net if you have questions or would like to volunteer to help. HOSPITALITY Do you like to bake or cook? Maybe you have a special bakery or caterer you trust and use when you want to do something nice for someone. Do you have a knack for setting a beautiful table or just like to make people feel special? Please consider joining our list of Hospitality volunteers. Several times a year we provide Hospitality to staff members at Hanover High School. Volunteers are needed to provide food and baked goods, beverages, paper goods, flowers and special treats. We are looking for names to add to our list….help as little or as often as you are able. Please consider joining this group of parents who like to focus on making the High School staff feel appreciated. Contact Jill Kadra at jakadra@verizon.net if you would like to be added to our list of volunteers. CLASS OF 2021 - SAFE GRAD NIGHT After graduation on Friday night June 4th we will be hosting an All Night Party for our graduates to enjoy time with their friends in a safe, fun environment. The event will take place after graduation, from 10 pm – 5 am after graduation. WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Help is needed with fundraising for this event as well as parents to help with planning. Volunteers are needed from all classes; in fact we encourage those with younger students to get involved. Parents from the Class of 2020 are welcome to help with the planning but will not be able to chaperone that night. All ideas are welcome. If you have any ideas or would like to volunteer, please contact Susan Hutchins at suehutchinsqa@gmail.com or Kristen Lundin at klundin154@gmail.com or you can join our Facebook group “HHS Grad Night”. The Facebook group is where we will post the most up-to-date information. |
